June’s First Friday served as an annual fundraiser for Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity. It’s called Garden Party. “All the proceeds are going toward housing,” said executive director Rachel Hagenbaugh. “We are raffling-off different planters that have been donated by community members and businesses through organizations.”
Hagenbaugh says the organization was recently gifted two lots in the 1200 block of East First Avenue. “Those are unoccupied at the moment, so as soon as the paperwork clears, we should be able to break ground,” she said. The project is townhomes with garages which is something new for the organization.
Mitchell Regional Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to providing affordable housing solutions for families in Davison and Hanson counties.
