Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher, supported by Friday’s firm midday boxed beef, along with follow-through from Wednesday’s post-USDA report gains. December was up $.70 at $117.10 and February was $.17 higher at $120.92.
Feeder cattle were up on the same factors as the live pit, with additional support from the weak corn. January was $.75 higher at $149.37 and March was up $.75 at $145.92.
Direct cash cattle markets were quiet.
