China was the top destination for U.S. soybeans last week. The USDA’s weekly export inspections data shows more than 335,000 tons of U.S. beans left port during the week ending February 28th, mostly from the Pacific Northwest, headed for the world’s biggest buyer of beans. U.S. sales and shipments continue to trail last marketing year because of the trade tensions between the U.S. and China, along with increased competition from Brazil. Corn inspections remain ahead of the USDA’s anticipated pace, while wheat and sorghum have also moved out slower than expected.
