Trade disputes are impacting soybean farmers nationwide, but an Illinois Soybean Association director says since Illinois is the largest soybean producing state in the nation, trade disputes with China are impacting Illinois farmers a little more.
“About half of Illinois soybeans are exported and about half of those got to China so, this does equal to a significant amount of soybeans that used to have a home that right now are sitting in excess stocks.”
Nick Harre, ISA Director for district 17 puts the situation into perspective.
