EPA releases E15 proposed rule

The EPA has released its proposed rule to allow sales of
E15 and higher blends of ethanol year-round.

American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings says he’s skeptical the rule can be finalized by the start of the summer driving season.

“And that’s just based on the realistic experience I’ve had with EPA where nothing gets done quickly. We have literally 80 days between now and June 1st.”

Renewable Fuels Association CEO Geoff Cooper is a bit more optimistic, pointing out the proposal moved swiftly through the Office of Management and Budget.
