Nearly 100% of consumers in a new survey say they look for
labels that indicate food is healthy but few find them, “Only 28%, slightly
more than a quarter of consumers, said that it’s EASY for them to find healthy
foods.”

Information Council says although more than half of consumers say they read the
nutrition facts label and ingredient list most find overall health information
confusing,
“By and large, consumers do remain confused about what foods
to eat and what foods to avoid.”
She says the Food and Drug Administration has signaled it is
in the process of updating the definition of “healthy” for a potential
“healthy” icon on food packages to make it easier for consumers.
