Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were mostly modestly higher on spread trade and the firm to higher midday boxed beef. The trade was also watching weather’s impact on cash business. February was down $.32 at $126.15 and April was up $.25 at $128.05.
Feeder cattle futures were mostly firm on the same factors as the live pit, but with gains limited by the modestly higher corn. January was $.27 lower at $142.37 and March was up $.05 at $144.30.
