A cattle rancher sees a silver lining to the record
snowfall Minnesota received in February.
Miles Kuschel operates a beef cow/calf herd in the north-central part of the state.
“With the snow being as deep as it is, wolves this winter are really having a heyday with the deer. I really feel bad for the deer out there (because) the herds have been decimated (by the wolves). But as far as the cows go, they haven’t taken any of our cattle.”
Kuschel has lost cattle to wolf attacks in the past.
