A tentative settlement has
been reached in the lawsuit filed against Missouri’s
artificial meat labeling law by the Missouri ACLU, Animal Legal Defense Fund,
The Good Food Institute and Tofurkey. The terms of the deal between the state
and the ACLU reportedly
are being worked out. The law, passed last year in
Missouri, says products that do not come from an actual cow, chicken,
turkey or other animal with two or four feet cannot be labeled
and sold as “meat.”
