U.S. ag trade officials on potential U.K. trade deal

Top U.S. ag trade officials say a bilateral trade deal with

the United Kingdom would be welcomed.

Gregg Doud is the U.S. Trade Representative’s Chief Ag

Negotiator.  

“Come on in the water’s fine,” he says. “We remind people all

the time the United States is a major food producer, a major food exporter, and

an enormous food importer.”

A British farmer attending the USDA’s annual ag outlook forum

last week asked trade officials what the UK could expect in a trade deal if it

separates from the European Union.
