USDA says more farmers in debt, income report delayed until March

The USDA’s Ag Outlook Forum usually includes the agencies farm income forecast, but not this year. USDA analyst Carrie Litkowski says the 35-day government shutdown slowed down the process. “The release that was scheduled, the farm income release had to be postponed until March 6th so we would have time to put together the estimates and forecasts with the latest data that’s available.”

Litkowski says their data shows more farmers are in debt.
