USDA analyst Seth Meyer says U.S. soybeans are in a
difficult spot right now. The news last month that China said it would buy 10
million metric tons brought soybean prices up a little but Brazil’s prices are
down, “Our prices are being bid up fractionally because folks are hoping the
Chinese will come in and make big buys, so that’s supporting prices a little
bit.”
And that, Meyer says, doesn’t help U.S.
