An updated USDA supply and demand forecast is set to be released on February 8th after more than a month without the report because of the government shutdown.
“So, I think the market is anxious to hear our evaluation of
global supply and demand balances, so they can get a complete picture.”
But, USDA’s Outlook Board Chairman Seth Meyer says the report might be lacking in some areas.
“The information that may be more lacking will be in the livestock and dairy sector.”
Meyer says his analysts are scrambling to make sure they put together
a report that is both timely and accurate based on the livestock and crop data
that they do have.
