Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says he’s
cautiously optimistic the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement will have congressional
approval by summer.
Perdue was joined by his Canadian
and Mexican counterparts this morning at the Ag Outlook Forum.
“We’re moving as expeditiously as
possible (on USMCA consideration), we’ve notified through the U.S. trade ambassador
and Congress and they will have an opportunity to discuss that,” he says. “We’ll
build momentum as each nation ratifies.”
All three countries must ratify
the agreement.
