Wisconsin
Farmers Union delegates re-elected Darin Von Ruden of Westby as their state
president. Ed Gorell of Eleva and Rick Adamski of Seymour were also
re-elected to the board.
Policy
adjustments and special orders of business included a dairy policy supporting
supply management, and support for including whole milk and flavored milks with
no added sugar to the school nutrition programs.
Farmers
Union also backed policies supporting groundwater testing & mapping,
regulation of large livestock facilities or CAFO’s, eminent domain reform
to allow local ordinances to block acquisition of land, and adding hemp and
cannabis to a list of prohibited crops in Wisconsin’s anti-corporate farming
law to allow small and mid-size farmers to compete.
