Hog futures cautious to start the week

At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures closed lower as it waits for widespread direct cash business.  Feeder cattle futures were pressured by the days higher move in corn.  December live cattle closed $.05 lower at $116.87 and February live cattle closed $.32 lower at $120.17.  January feeder cattle closed $.72 lower at $144.50 and March feeder cattle closed $1.40 lower at $141.45.

Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet as buyers and sellers are focused on new showlists.
