Saturday marked the 21st annual Mitchell Kid’s Christmas Shopping at the Masonic Lodge. It was the first one for Mitchell Main Street and Beyond Executive Director Jared Indahl. “It’s really fun, people watching the kids,” said Indahl. “They’re so proud of the gifts they pick out for their parents, brothers, sisters, grandma and grandpa because…it’s something personal from them.”
Kid’s Christmas Shopping is a chance for youngsters to shop for gifts on their own priced $10 or less.
Their parents waited in a separate area while the youngsters purchased presents and had them wrapped free by volunteers. 20 local vendors offered a wide variety of gift ideas for the kids to choose from.
Indahl says he’s grateful for the vendors and volunteers that keep making the event a highlight of the Christmas holiday shopping season.
