An altercation between two teenage males last Friday sent one to the hospital and the other into custody.
Public Safety Chief Lyndon Overweg says a 17 year old boy and 15 year old boy were involved in an altercation in their team’s locker room at the Mitchell Activities Center. “The incident resulted in the 15 year old sustaining a serious head injury which required hospitalization,” said Overweg. “We do know the 15 year old was later released from the hospital.” He says the 17 year old was taken into custody Sunday for his involvement in the incident.
Overweg says the 17 year old is being processed through the juvenile court system. He says depending on several factors the case could be transferred to adult court. That’s up to the states attorney and the court system. Overweg says the investigation is continuing and that’s all the information for release at this time.
