The weather outside was far from frightful and Mitchell’s annual Parade of Lights was delightful. “Everything went really well,” said Mitchell Main Street and Beyond executive director Jared Indahl. “The weather was really perfect, we had everybody show up.”
Indahl says Christmas at the Corn Palace was also a hit. “We saw tons of kids coming in, tons of pictures on-line,” he said. “I think everybody kind of enjoyed themselves today.”
Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted visitors to the Corn Palace before the parade and many enjoyed free chili as well.
Indahl believes about 1,500 spectators between 1st to 9th Avenues on Main Street enjoyed the 31 brightly lit and creative entries decorated in the “Cartoon Christmas” theme.
