SIOUX FALLS – Mitchell Kernels volleyball fell to Sioux Falls Jefferson 3-0 on Tuesday night by set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 26-24.
Jefferson closed the second set on a 7-0 run, and the Cavaliers then rallied late in the third set. Mitchell had set point at 24-23, but Jefferson scored the final three points to win the set and complete the sweep.
Mitchell finished with 31 kills in the match. Charleigh Collins led the Kernels with nine kills, followed by Nia Talley with eight and Cece Morgan with seven.
Sloan Stoebner finished with 12 assists, while Bree Smart added seven assists.
Talley led Mitchell with 16 digs, while Londyn Hajek had 13 and Cassidy Korzan added eight.
The loss drops Mitchell to 4-8 on the season, while Jefferson improves to 4-6.
The Kernels return to action Thursday when they host Pierre at 7 p.m. KORN’s pregame show begins at 6:45 p.m.
