Our region’s Manufacturing Economy turned in another positive month in September…but job growth is still slow.
Creighton University’s Mid-American Business Conditions Index is in positive territory for the eighth straight month.
Economist Dr. Ernie Goss says other sectors of the economy may be lagging, but manufacturing is solid. “The manufacturing sector is moving forward, but as the rest of the economy is not moving forward like the manufacturing,” said Goss. “We’re still down manufacturing jobs, but nonetheless we’re moving in the right direction.”
South Dakota Manufacturing is also in positive territory, as exports improved by more than six percent from a year ago.
