In response to a domestic disturbance early on December 18, the Marshall Police Department dispatched an officer to the 500 block of Brussels Court.
Upon arrival at around 2:30 am, the officer encountered a woman being actively stabbed by the suspect.
After deploying a taser, shots were fired during the interaction with the suspect, resulting in the suspect’s death.
Life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and the injured woman was airlifted to Sioux Falls in critical condition.
Authorities assure there is no current threat to the public, and the incident is under investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
