Woman Killed, Another Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 75 in Iowa

A head-on collision on Highway 75 resulted in the death of one woman and left another injured on Friday afternoon. According to a crash report, 48-year-old Joni Wulf was traveling north on Highway 75 at 4:27 p.m. when she allegedly crossed the center line into oncoming traffic.

Megan Klapperich, who was traveling south on Highway 75, attempted to swerve left to avoid Wulf’s vehicle. Despite her efforts, the two vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.

Wulf did not survive the crash, while Klapperich was transported to a hospital for treatment. The report noted that both women were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Rock Rapids Fire Department, Lyon County EMS, Trackside, and the Iowa DOT.
