The USDA says the number of days suitable for spring fieldwork were limited last week in South Dakota.
As of Sunday, 13% of the state’s expected corn crop has been planted, ahead of the five-year average of 6%.
Four percent of soybeans have been planted in the state, near 2% on average.
Spring wheat planting reached 62% completion, ahead of the five-year average of 38%. Ten percent of the crop has emerged.
