2024 Michigan Master Farmers honored

Conservation remains at the core of this year’s Michigan Master Farmer winners.

Jerry Heck’s farm in Monroe was one of the first to be verified in the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program.  His commitment to several ag organizations and conservation in the Western Lake Erie Basin has spanned decades.

“It’s hard to see visual differences but I know that, for a variety of reasons, yields have increased,” he shares.

Kent City’s Tim Kruithoff has grown his farm to include 2,800 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat along with operating a 1,400-sow unit in Indiana.
