Kansas farmers are making good progress on this year’s corn harvest.
The USDA says 35% of the state’s corn crop has been harvested, ahead of the 29% five-year-average.
Soybeans are 9% harvested in the state, ahead of 3% last year. Fifty-three percent of the crop is dropping leaves.
Winter wheat is 19% planted, behind the average pace of 23%.
Pasture and range conditions are rated 10% good-to-excellent.
