Dry conditions allowed Indiana
farmers to make significant planting progress this week.
According to the USDA, 95
percent of corn is planted, and 88 percent is emerged.
Eighty-eight percent of
soybeans are planted, and 73 percent are emerged.
Corn is 39 and soybeans are
37 percent good to excellent.
Lance Honig with the National Ag Statistics Service told Brownfield recently the planted percentage each week gives an indication of how far along in the planting progress farmers are on a weekly basis.
