Soybean planting wrapped up in Indiana last week, but both corn and soybean progress remain well behind schedule.
According to the USDA, corn is 39 percent good to
excellent. Soybeans are 38 percent good to excellent.
Farmers were able to make significant progress with winter
wheat harvest. Winter wheat is 96 percent mature and 79 percent harvested.
Lance Honig with the National Ag Statistics Service told Brownfield recently the planted percentage each week gives an indication of how far along in the planting progress farmers are on a weekly basis.
