The USDA says mostly mild weather conditions were interrupted by scattered storms last week in Ohio.
Sixty-eight percent of Ohio’s corn crop is called good to excellent, with 29 percent silking, compared to the five-year average of 53 percent.
Sixty-three percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with 46 percent blooming, and 17 percent at the pod setting stage, behind the respective normal paces.
Ninety-six percent of the winter wheat crop is harvested, slightly ahead of the five-year average.
