South Dakota farmers continue their efforts to catch up on planting.
The USDA says 93 percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 99 percent last year. Sixty-eight percent of the crop has emerged.
Seventy-seven percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the five-year-average of 79 percent. Thirty-five percent of the crop has emerged.
Thirty-three percent of the winter wheat crop is headed, and 42 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.
