Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions across the northern High Plains and the Northwest.
Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal weather from coastal Texas to the southern Atlantic Coast, and from the Pacific Northwest into the upper Great Lakes region, should contrast with near- or below-normal rainfall across the remainder of the country, including the Ohio Valley, middle Atlantic and Northeastern States, and an area stretching from California to the southern Plains.
