A cold Spring weather pattern ahead for most of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures nearly nationwide.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the southern tip of Florida and the Southwest, including southern California.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in most areas west of the Mississippi River should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather in the East and Pacific Northwest.
