A generally drier pattern ahead, with near-seasonal temperatures for the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures across much of the South, East, and lower Midwest, while warmer-than-normal weather will prevail in southern Florida and areas northwest of a line from south-central Arizona to Lake Superior.

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation across much of the country should contrast with wetter-than-normal conditions in peninsular Florida, the Northeast, and an area stretching from the Four Corners region to the southern High Plains.
