A U.S. Congressman from Missouri says a new farm bill is on the to-do list once lawmakers return from a state work period in mid-April.
And Mark Alford tells Brownfield “we’re going to need a week, at least, on the floor to get a farm bill done for this Congressional session. GT Thompson wants to do committee work when we return. I think that’s optimistic, I’m hoping we do that and the next step would be getting the floor time.”
Alford says getting floor time for the farm bill might be a challenge before August.
