Above-normal temperatures will cover much of the country during the next few days, although cool air will be lurking across the nation’s northern tier. In addition, clouds and rainfall will suppress temperatures in parts of the southwestern and south-central U.S.
Five-day rainfall totals could reach 2 to 4 inches or more from southeastern Arizona into the mid-South. Rain, heaviest in the upper Midwest, will also fall across the North, but dry weather will prevail during the next few days in flooded sections of the Carolinas.
