A touch of Winter on the central Plains; largely fair, chilly weather across much of the Corn Belt

Across the Corn Belt, clear albeit chilly weather favors late summer crop harvesting throughout much of the Midwest.  Harvesting had reached 80 percent completion in most major production states as of November 19, the exceptions being Michigan (67 percent harvested), Pennsylvania (80 percent), and Wisconsin (78 percent).

On the Plains, Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories are currently in place over a broad area stretching from western Nebraska to northern-most Texas, where a wintry mix of precipitation – including locally heavy snow showers – are expected to pose hazardous travel conditions and likely halt most on-farm activities.
