A complex storm system currently centered near the Texas coast will move northeastward, reaching coastal New England on Friday. A band of wintry weather associated with the storm will occur from west-central Texas to New England, including the southeastern Plains, the middle Mississippi Valley, and the lower Great Lakes region.
Farther south, however, rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches could spark flooding in parts of the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic States. Strong to locally severe thunderstorms may accompany the Southeastern downpours.
