The chair of the Iowa Corn Promotion Board says U.S. ethanol exports have increased to Canada.
Kelly Nieuwenhuis tells Brownfield Canada has been the most consistent market since 2010, and there is an opportunity for even more growth.
“They are looking at a possibility of importing up to a billion gallons of ethanol,” he said. “They are also a low carbon fuel standard country, so they have a premium for their ethanol if your CI scores are low enough.
