More than $1 million in federal Specialty Crop Block Grants have been awarded to support Michigan projects.
Senator Debbie Stabenow says the additional support will help producers keep their competitive edge as they continue to recover from COVID-19 pandemic challenges. The funding comes from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and is in addition to annual farm bill funding of the program.
Twelve projects received up to $125,000 each and range from increasing digital outreach to added processing and research.
