American Farm Bureau is urging the administration
to focus on trade negotiations with China to resolve the trade war.
Dave Salmonsen, senior director of congressional relations with American Farm Bureau, says they want to see trade talks get back on track after the latest tariffs.
“There’s a lot that has to be discussed,” he says. “We have to come to some agreement and we certainly hope the parties – our government and theirs – can sit down and restart talks.”
He tells Brownfield the mitigation payments are
helpful, but they will not make up for market losses farmers have experienced.
