African
swine fever has been detected in Vietnam.
The
Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirm the virus was
recently found in two northern provinces.
Eight
cases have been reported so far, and pigs from the effected farms are being
culled.
Local
authorities are testing neighboring farms and have initiated measures to
contain and disinfect the area.
ASF
continues to spread in other countries as well. China reports a 26th
province, which borders Vietnam, has tested positive for the virus.
