Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue outlines SNAP work requirements

The USDA has released final rules that strengthen work requirements for able-bodied adults under the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says one of the provisions

in the work rules is a categorical exclusion.

“If you had a brochure or phone call with an agency

there you would deem to be eligible for SNAP– those categorical exclusions

will be rescinded in that way and you have to have at least a cash grant of $50

or more from Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) to demonstrate your

need,” he says.
