The president of a state farm bureau organization says agriculture can be the center of carbon and climate change discussions.
Nebraska’s Mark McHargue tells Brownfield the U.S. needs to increase investments in low-carbon biofuels and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is at the top of the list.
“I think we’ve got a great story to tell on how we have reduced our carbon footprint,” he said. “And so we get that combined with the conversations about SAF, I think there’s really a lot of runway for certainly the Midwest to be in the driver’s seat in that conversation.”
He says the long-term opportunity for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could be enormous.
