An agronomist who covers southern Minnesota is hopeful a
lot of corn gets planted this week.
Jon Zuk with Winfield United says the outlook is promising.
“I think we have two rain chances, (one) on Tuesday and (one on) Thursday, that are pretty minimal. And actually the last couple days with the wind and the little bit of sun we got yesterday, the fields have really been shaping up fairly nicely.”
He tells Brownfield this is probably the last week to still achieve maximum yields, but suggests Minnesota farmers have become professionals at planting late.
