Agronomist’s soybean yield goals washed away this year

An Illinois agronomist

says his goal of 100-bushel soybeans literally got washed away this year.

Kris Ehler says coming out of a record year for yields in 2018, wet conditions made his growers retool their thoughts this spring.

“The market pushed us more towards corn as a profitable venture verses the planting of soybeans when those planting opportunities arose. I completely agree with them (local farmers). Some of the June planted soybeans look pretty tough and there’s a lot of them out in the countryside.”

He tells Brownfield every year is a learning year.
