Alfalfa is taking off in eastern Iowa.
Iowa State University Extension field agronomist Rebecca Vittetoe says temperatures have been in the 70’s and 80’s for several days.
“Looking at the alfalfa fields, they’re starting to green up quite nicely. There’s at least two to three inches of regrowth on a lot of those alfalfa fields, and some of them might have a little bit more.”
She tells Brownfield the crop seems to have made it through winter in pretty good shape.
