There is a lot of optimism in the future of rural America, according to a new study by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Harvard School of Public Health. Survey respondents say although opioid abuse and the economy are two of the biggest challenges in rural communities, there are still a lot of positive feelings about life in rural America. More than 1,000 adults living in rural America participated in the survey.
