An active, moisture-laden pattern virtually Nationwide

During the next several days, much of the country will experience mild weather. By early next week, however, a much colder pattern will become established across the West.

Meanwhile, widespread precipitation—mostly rain—will fall into the weekend across the South, East, and lower Midwest, with totals of 1 to 2 inches possible in some areas.

Subsequently, a series of Pacific storms will begin

to arrive in the Northwest. As a result, rain and snow shower activity will

increase early next week in the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, with

precipitation eventually reaching the central Plains and the Midwest in advance

of Thanksgiving.
