A donation from Anheuser-Busch will help rice farmers implement
conservation practices. Anheuser-Busch agronomy director Jess Newman tells Brownfield
the brewer is giving $150,000 to USA Rice to support the organization’s Rice
Stewardship Partnership.
“What our funds for USA Rice does, what they go toward is providing technical
staff that can help connect growers to that money,” said Newman, referring to
grant money applied for by USA Rice, “and then help implement those practice
and technology changes on farms that are pushing towards irrigation and nutrient
efficiency.”
