Some members of Congress have different expectations for when a new farm bill can be passed.
Ohio Republican Senator JD Vance tells Brownfield another one-year extension of a farm bill is not out of the question.
“I think there’s a small chance, yeah, that we would extend it into 2025, do another year-long extension and then try to sort of get the five-year extension done in ’25,” he says.
Vance says he expects the political divide on environmental priorities is a major hold up in current discussions.
